Armoloy®
Nodular Thin Dense Chromium
Armoloy® electrocoating can be applied to both ferrous
and non-ferrous metals including stainless steels,
brass, bronze and all copper based alloys. Aluminum,
magnesium and titanium are not considered good substrates
for Armoloy® electrocoating. |
Aerospace -- Armoloy®
can be processed to these individual specifications in addition
to many other company requirements:
| AMS-2438A |
QQ-C-320B,
Rev.4 |
AMS-2406 |
| These specifications require the
precise processing quality controls that Armoloy®
provides. |
Automotive -- Engine and
transmission parts such as valves, valve guides, pistons,
gears and splines are protected without detrimental tolerance
changes or variations.
Food Processing -- USDA/FDA
compliant, Armoloy® Nodular Thin Dense Chromium protects food-processing
equipment against wear and corrosion. Armoloy® coating resists
attack by most organic and inorganic compounds.
Bearings and bearing surfaces
coated with Armoloy® can run longer and cooler and are comparable
to a 440C Stainless Steel for corrosion protection. It is
particularly useful as a coating for bearings and bearing
surfaces made of 52100, M-50, M-50 NIL, BG-42, 440C, and all
pH basis metals. U.S.A.F. tests have shown that Armoloy® coating
enhances bearings (both ball and roller), and does not affect
nor induce fatigue nor change base metal characteristics.
Plastic and Rubber Molding
-- Plastic molders have better release characteristics
and reduced die wear when molding abrasive materials.
Nuclear components exhibit
better anti-galling and corrosion resistance properties.
Pumps with Armoloy® coated
components handle corrosive liquids and materials with longer
life.
| Look for Armoloy®
coating to greatly reduce maintenance and costly "down-time"
expenses in such applications as the following: |
 |
| Uniform Armoloy®
coated male and female threaded parts increase lubricity,
increase wear life, and provide corrosion resistance.
Armoloy® deposits of .0001" to .0002" per side
considerably improve the wear-life and corrosion resistance
on de-boning tools. |
 |
| Major OEM manufacturers
are using Armoloy® coating as a standard for improving
their bearing life and for corrosion protection. Precision
Armoloy® electrocoated ball bearing races can replace
expensive stainless steels, providing better performance,
lower cost, and improved corrosion resistance. |
 |
| Armoloy® Nodular
Thin Dense Chromium can be used in any manufacturing capacity
or supplemental role where lubricity, corrosion protection
and wear-life are key factors. Armoloy® coated mold plates
remain cleaner with less staining and material build-up. |
